The Mariner Youth Soccer awards scholarships to graduating senior students who participated in Mariner Youth Soccer over the years.
MYS scholarship selection process:
Scholarship applications are received by the Secretary who then redacts all names and personally descriptive information to assure each application is read by the scholarship committee as anonymous. The scholarship committee is comprised of 3-5 board members. The committee is sent the scrubbed applications for review and schedules a meeting during the month of April to discuss and select. Once selection(s) are made, scholarship amounts are awarded using a previously determined budget set by the full board. The week following the scholarship selection(s), the board notifies the recipient/s via letter by mail. Once MYS receives proof of enrollment at a College or University, a check is mailed to the recipient(s).
Applicant Qualifications:
1. Applicants must be a high school senior who played for Mariner Youth Soccer for a minimum of 4 years in either our Rec and/or Travel programs.
2. The applicants must submit their HS transcript
3. Personal References - Each applicant will need a minimum of two (2) personal references from coaches, teachers or other individuals (These can not be relatives).
4. Personal Statement - Applicants will need to submit a minimum of 250 word essay/statement sharing with us your experience with Mariner Youth Soccer and how it benefited you.
Deadline for applications: May 1 (APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR 2022)
